Vacation update

Ok, I got a little red during our first day on the beach. Oh well. I guess I just need to learn how to get some sun at home next time. But we are not planning a lot of time at the beach. I know weird, but the little guys can't handle to much and Gabe doesn't like it that much anyhow. Today was pretty much rain so we didn't get out to much. We took the boys to the aquarium which they loved until they started getting tired.

I don't have one good photo of the five of us yet so I will have to work on that tomorrow.

Bad air compressors, family vacations and letting the cat ouf of the bag

Weird title huh. Well that describes the last 24 hours around here. We are getting ready to head out for a family vacation today and yesterday we find out that the air compressor in the van has died so we are going to rent a van to take and worry about fixing ours when we get back. It was a crazy day yesterday trying to find what we wanted to rent as we thought about getting something big enough that my parents could ride in also. We had one all ready to go but when I went to look at it, there was like no room for our stuff. So scratch that. Anyway, we are back to taking a total of three vehicles but are good to go.
This morning for breakfast, I needed to go get some milk so when I get back and we are eating, Zach says, "Daddy, I just finished your card and I colored in it" :) Misty just lowers her head and starts laughing. Just way to funny. Anyway, I am taking the laptop so I may post from our vacation. If not, Have a good week. :)

Blogger removed from baseball game

Is this where the law can't keep up with advances in technology? A sports writer was ejected from a NCAA baseball game in Louisville for blogging about the game. Now the NCAA has laws in place to keep the rights of the game in check. For example during the NCAA basketball tournament, when games are in progress, no television studio is allowed to have a camera up and running inside the arena. Keep in mind in the baseball game instance that the game was held on state grounds. As the article here says, First Amendment anyone? You can read the New York Times article about it also.

The third annual Churchmedia.net conference is coming up in July, this time it's being held just out side of Washington DC. There will be classes from After Effect to Photoshop to Gimp Shop and how to start a media ministry in your church. There will also be some live video mixing and camera classes and for Churchmedia.net Pro members, you can watch the general sessions free online.

This year we are also adding a virtual version where you can watch the general sessions along with the breakout sessions online also. One general session in each time slot will be live and all others will be online shortly after the class is finished.

Dystonia awareness week

A good friend of mine suffers from a disease called Dystonia. It's a basically unknown disease and in fact sometimes ER doctors have either never heard of it or forgot from medical school. This upcoming week is Dystonia awareness week.

Dystonia is a movement disorder that causes the muscles to contract and spasm involuntarily. The neurological mechanism that makes muscles relax when they are not in use does not function properly. Opposing muscles often contract simultaneously as if they are “competing” for control of a body part. The involuntary muscle contractions force the body into repetitive and often twisting movements as well as awkward, irregular postures.

Tim is the President and founder of Churchmedia.net, an online Church media forum for church techies to come and share ideas and learn from each other. Please take a minute to pray for Tim and others who suffer from Dystonia.
Thanks
