Vote for which book I read next

Thanks to some early Christmas money, I was able to buy some books I have been wanting to read. I couldn't find The Blogging Church or In the Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day at the book store I was at but I did purchase five books. Now which one do I read first. Well, I think I will leave that up to you. I have been debating on it for the last couple of days so I thought I would just put up a poll. So, come on over to the blog and vote. Jon Weece for Kentucky’s most intriguing newsmaker

The local newspaper has a poll going for Kentucky’s most intriguing newsmaker of the year. Our Senior Pastor is in the running after the Comair 5191 memorial service earlier this year. Jon's part of the service was special in that he didn't say a word but used posterboard and put simple words or phrases to covey his thoughts. If you feel inclined, please vote for him :)

Happy Birthday C64

For the record, I have never had a Commodore 64, but I can't deny the impact this pc had on the teche generation. I grew up in a Radio Shack environment so I always had a TRS-80 computer in one version or another for most of my childhood. From a Color Computer to a Model 3/4 to some of the first PC based laptops Tandy put out.

I took several computer classes while in school learning basic programing well before I finished high school. In fact, I wrote a mailing label program for my parents business in basic. For the most part that program was easy except for the what seemed like a million read/data lines of code to get the UPS zones correct for the shipping to places we didn't ship to a lot.

Having those computers in front of me since I was about 8 years old for sure made a big impact in my career despite the fact I tried to run away from it while in college. I started college wanting to be a pharmacist and ended up with a journalism degree. After working for the paper in Richmond, I seen how computers were my future. I just couldn't stay away and was always drawn to supporting them.

So, Happy Birthday Commodore 64.

The twins are now three. Well almost. Monday is their birthday but we have been celebrating all weekend. Chuck E. Cheese last night and a family birthday tonight. Their uncle will be over on Sunday and Monday is Build a Bear workshop night. They have been waiting to go there since summer. The biggest highlight of the night is when they opened their guitars and Gabe finally getting bubblegum. We told them they couldn't have any until they turned three. So everyone of course got them bubble gum and my parents got them a bubble gum bank.

Having twins over the last three years has been a challenge but it's been worth it. The boys are so different it's not even funny. They each have their own personally and we love them for it. When we found out we were having twins, we didn't know what to think but we made it so far. There were nights that first year that we didn't know how were going to make it. Gabe especially we so difficult at nights. He grew so much and ate so much that it must have been painful for him at times. We kept them on the same feeding schedule and sometimes at night we hated waking him up to eat. We got plenty of late night television. You know, those record sets for music that no body wants and tv shows that you had forgotten you had watched when you were a kid.

Anyway, now it's time for Christmas. I guess I will start on the outside lights this week and maybe even put the tree up tomorrow. We will see.

Good night

Good night tonight. The boys got to stay up a bit late and watch Shriek the Halls and The Grinch. Tonight was probably the first night where they sit up and watched some of the Christmas shows. It was fun to just sit and watch them as they watched every bit. Well, except for Zach falling asleep on the recliner :)
Anyway, this should be a good Christmas for us. Can't wait.
